As a rule the L&S lightweight construction hollow piston cylin- ders, made from carbon fiber-reinforced plastics (CFRP) and high performance light alloys, weigh less than 40% the weight of a normal steel hollow piston cylinder. This enormous advantage is realized particularly with mobile applications as well as during manual handling, since with the application of the light CFRP cyl-inders the heavy lifting and assembly equipment can be omitted both for the transport and for unloading and positioning at the end destination. As well as that, the physical load and the exp-enditure of time for the work team is also notably reduced. |
